Dr. Md. Akther Uddin

Senior Lecturer

Dr. Md Akther Uddin is a senior lecturer and program coordinator of School of Business. He is also carrying the responsibilities of Assistant Proctor of the University of Creative Technology, Chittagong.  Dr. Akther completed his PhD in Educational Psychology from a top ranking University in Russia and Europe which promotes Moscow school of thought. He also holds MSc in Islamic Finance from INCEIF The Global University of Islamic Finance in Malaysia which is currently the number one research institution in the world for Islamic Finance. Moreover, he has got a number of international teaching certifications: University of Cambridge ESOL certified CELTA (London), Trinity College London & The Consultants-E certified Certificate in Teaching with ICT (UK),  International House  certified Certificate in IHTBE (Moscow),  and Moscow Institute of Open Education & British Council  certified Certificate in Teaching with Technology (Moscow). Prior to joining UCTC Dr. Akther taught at the Distance Education Faculty of Moscow State University of Psychology and Education. He also worked with a renowned private educational institution, American Centre of Education (ACE), for 5 years in Moscow where he was actively involved in corporate training and ELT. Mr. Akther has received undergraduate, graduate merit scholarship, INEIF postgraduate scholarship and research funding sponsorship for doctoral studies.

Current research interests: Islamic economics and finance, monetary economics, microfinance and poverty, and educational science, higher education and socio-economics.
