To gain practical experience beyond the classroom, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at the University of Creative Technology Chittagong (UCTC) organized an industrial tour for its 6th and 7th semester students. On Sunday, 22th June, 2025, a team of 21 students visited the GEMCO, Bangladesh government owned company that manufactures electric transformers. The tour aimed to provide students with firsthand insight into manufacturing of Electric Transformers and operational management beyond their academic syllabus. The tour was led by UCCT EEE Lecturer Md. Sadri Islam, and Md. Maruful Islam. During the visit, students explored various plant units and operational facilities. They also attended interactive technical sessions. Lecturer Sadri Islam noted, “The core purpose of this tour was to expand students’ understanding of industrial practices, particularly in electrical machineries like transformers and to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.” The visit concluded with a brief discussion where both UCTC representatives and industry officials expressed mutual interest in continued collaboration and emphasized the shared goal of contributing to national development.
