The Department of Mechanical Engineering, UCTC, organized an industrial visit to HM Steel Ltd. on 8th October 2025 as part of its continuous effort to bridge academic learning with real industrial experience.
The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the modern steel manufacturing process, industrial management practices, and workplace safety procedures. A group of enthusiastic students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in this insightful visit.
During the plant tour, students observed various stages of production — including billet casting, reheating furnace operations, rolling processes, and quality inspection. The on-site engineers explained each step of the process in detail, highlighting the importance of mechanical systems, automation, and maintenance in achieving efficiency and safety.
