The Department of English, University of Creative Technology Chittagong (UCTC), successfully organized the inaugural seminar of “Intersections of English Language and Literature Studies (IELLS)” on 7 October 2026 at Room E1.
The research-based seminar series marks a significant initiative to foster academic inquiry, research engagement, and intellectual exchange among teachers and students. IELLS will continue every semester, providing a platform for scholarly discussion on English language, literature, linguistics, and related fields.
The inaugural session featured academic presentations by Mohammad Taher Hossain Salim, Associate Professor and Head, Department of English and Director, IQAC, and Mymuna Khatun, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
Prof. Dr. Zahid Hossian Sharif, Vice-Chancellor, UCTC, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. The session was chaired by Shanzida Sultana, Lecturer, Department of English and Convener, IELLS Organizing Committee. Ilias Shahriar and Mohammad Ali, Lecturers, Department of English, served as Member and Member Secretary respectively. The participation of faculty members and enthusiastic students made the seminar vibrant and intellectually engaging. IELLS reflects the Department of English’s commitment to advancing research, academic collaboration, and scholarly dialogue at UCTC.
